Volunteer at the Race for Open Space

April 6 - April 11

As a volunteer for the Race for Open Space, you are creating something very special: a moment where people connect to themselves, to each other, and to the beauty of nature at Marks Ranch through their adventure across meadows and oak woodlands. The Race for Open Space would not be what it is without the kindness of volunteers who give their time to make it a success! When you volunteer for Big Sur Land Trust at the Race for Open Space, you are directly joining with us in our mission to inspire love of land across generations, conservation of our unique Monterey County landscapes, and access to outdoor experiences for all.

Available volunteer opportunities include registration and bib pick-up, helping mark the race courses and install signage, facilitating event parking, running a water station during the race, being stationed on the course for communications, celebrating our runners by assisting with medals and a raffle, setup/teardown, and more. To thank you for your tremendous gift of time and talent, volunteers will receive a Big Sur Land Trust volunteer T-shirt or hat; a light breakfast, coffee, and a beer on race day; and access to Big Sur Land Trust’s flagship properties for self-guided hikes.
