SUMMARY:Volunteer Opportunity: Big Sur Redwood Forest Restoration at Glen Deven Ranch
DESCRIPTION:Join the Watershed Stewards Program and Big Sur Land Trust at Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur\, where we will be restoring a redwood forest and enhancing steelhead trout habitat along Garrapata Creek! \nTasks will include removing invasive plant species to support native plants\, weeding around redwood seedlings\, improving habitat for wildlife\, including federally-listed threatened steelhead\, and transplanting native plants locally. The restoration work at Glen Deven Ranch is ambitious and exciting\, and it’s imperative that we remove invasive\, non-native species to encourage native plants and the pollinators who love them\, reduce erosion risk\, and bring back the natives. \nPlease bring closed-toed shoes (sturdy working/hiking boots are recommended)\, long pants\, lunch\, water bottle\, coffee mug\, and appropriate sun and rain protection. We will be working outside\, so be prepared to get dirty! \nAll ages are welcome\, but this event is recommended for volunteers 16 years of age and older. Water\, snacks\, and coffee will be provided\, but please bring a lunch. This event will happen rain or shine! Please register below:
