DESCRIPTION:We have recently removed a lot of irrigation lines from our restoration site at Glen Deven Ranch and need help sorting out the useable line and fittings! This involves removing fittings (emitter heads\, T-joints\, metal clamps\, etc. and sorting them) and then sorting out useable stretches of irrigation line itself. This will likely require cutting out the damaged sections of line and then sorting by thickness. The lines are currently in 2 piles at the property – 1 near the entrance gate and 1 near the property caretakers house in the driveway. \nSpace is limited so sign up today!

Together with your help and the help of our partners we will be treating a large stand of French broom; ensuring that the population does not continue to spread across the Ranch. \nAt the event you will be helping us pull French Broom sprouts before they have a chance to grow and seed. Come be a part of the restoration and join in on planting and spreading native seed! \nYou will help us plant approximately 200 plants within the Eucalyptus Removal footprint to restore native vegetation cover and stabilize the eroding slope. Please check our calendar for upcoming volunteer events. \nGlen Deven Ranch Native Seed Collection Day\nSaturday\, October 5 | 9:00am – 1:00pm \nWe have completed the eucalyptus removal effort at Glen Deven Ranch and are moving into the restoration phase of the project. This volunteer work day will be centered on native seed collection\, enabling us to create a native seed bank to be used for Glen Deven Ranch’s restoration. We plan to restore the newly-opened understory to high quality native chaparral habitat from local sources of seed. The event will involve low strenuous activity\, and some hiking will be required. \nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes\, and bring sun protection and water. Some of the collection sites may have exposure to poison oak so please wear long-sleeved clothing. We will provide tools and instruction. \nCarpooling is encouraged. Glen Deven Ranch is approximately 20 minutes south of Carmel. Directions will be provided with your confirmation email.
