Meeting Location:
Wild Goose Café
18 E Carmel Valley Road
Carmel Valley, CA 93924
Meet at 7:30 sharp. (Arrive early if you want to indulge in a great cup of coffee and a pastry!)

Come and explore this remote 1,675-acre ranch acquired by Big Sur Land Trust in 2007. Fronting the Arroyo Seco River, the property was a conservation priority because of its diverse habitats, native plant and animal species, river and creek systems and links to surrounding wilderness areas.

A moderately strenuous 5-mile round-trip hike will take you through the rich riparian habitat of Horse Canyon and sycamore alluvial woodlands. Be prepared for multiple creek crossings and rocky terrain.

On the extended (very strenuous!) option we will explore dense oak woodlands, hike up to high country to take in panoramic views of the Arroyo Seco watershed, and descend to cross (or swim in!) the Arroyo Seco River.
