BSLT continues to partner with CCA to help directly engage residents through door-to-door campaigns, and educating local families. In the near future, the Habitat Stewardship Project will host several educational programs and perform light stewardship at the native plant garden at the park.
Big Sur Land Trust is working with Salinas residents and community members to form “Friends of Ensen Community Park.” This group will collaborate in planning and delivering recreational and educational activities at the park, support park clean-up, and care for the native plant garden. In the future, Friends of Ensen Community Park could play a role in stewarding the land and educating the community about the 67-acre restoration area that is currently under construction.
