Youth Outdoor Leadership Program

Remember your first time letting the sounds of nature lull you to sleep? Making new friendships and deepening old ones through games, art, music, and exploring nature? Doing things you never thought you were capable of? As a youth leader you’ll get to experience all that again while helping new campers have the same meaningful experiences you had at camp.

Big Sur Land Trust’s Youth Outdoor Leadership program introduces camp alumni and other young adults to working with youth in the outdoors and the skills needed to pursue other nature-related careers. We envision a future where environmental career fields are representative of and accessible to the full diversity of our communities. This starts with identifying and breaking down barriers to participation where we can. To that end, the YOLP is a paid opportunity and we commit to providing transportation support to participants as needed.
