Dear Friends,
Reflecting on the one year anniversary of the Ensen Community Park Grand Opening, we are in awe of the ways this remarkable community has made our collective dream of rewilding the heart of Salinas a reality. Thanks to caring rehabilitation and restoration by our amazing team and volunteers from across our county, the wetlands area of Ensen Community Park is growing, changing, and returning to its beautiful natural rhythms.
At the same time, we are holding our beloved Big Sur in our hearts. A sincere thank you to the incredible work of first responders and community members. Because of you, our neighbors are safe, and containment of the Timber Fire continues to improve each day. There is more work to be done, but schools are reopening, families are returning home, and our wild spaces are being tended and protected.
What a privilege it is to live in a place where stepping up for each other and for the lands we cherish is such an important part of who we are. Here, there is never a doubt that folks will step up when needed and step in when asked. Simply put, you all are the BEST. We are grateful for all of you.
