Discover Big Sur Land Trust Preserves
Tucked in a canyon along the Big Sur coastline, Glen Deven Ranch is 860 acres of stunning woodlands, grasslands, and wildlife. This special place was gifted to the Land Trust in 2001 by Dr. Seeley and Mrs. Virginia Mudd, who dreamed it would become a hub for conservation, creativity, and community.
Each summer, that dream comes to life as youth from across Monterey County experience nature, art, and inspiration through our outdoor camps. Glen Deven also serves an important role as an emergency access route for nearby residents.

Volunteer with Big Sur Land Trust
You can join Big Sur Land Trust in taking care of the land on the second Saturday and fourth Wednesday of every month! Iceplant Removal Volunteer Days at Martin Dunes in Marina

Big Sur Land Trust’s preserve at Martin Dunes protects critical habitat for several special status species, including the Monterey spineflower, Smith’s blue butterfly, and Western snowy plover. However, introduced invasive species such as iceplant and annual grasses are prime threats to this native coastal dune system. Join us in ensuring the native plants and animals have the best chance for success!
