Help Create a New Park!

The project has currently been designed to a 30% level through a robust community engagement process that incorporated ideas and needs of the local community.

Project ideas were gathered from local residents at community events held on the property, through specific outreach activities and through a series of five public meetings held at Sherwood Hall during 2018 and 2019. This input was incorporated into the design and refined after each meeting, with an opportunity for the public to review and comment after each revision to achieve the current design. We plan to hold more public meetings and seek input in the future. BSLT staff have prepared and submitted the required development application documents for the City of Salinas to consider the Land Trust’s Carr Lake Restoration and Park Development Project. A CEQA document should be released for public review later next month. We anticipate that a final CEQA document, along with BSLT’s application will be presented to the City Planning Commission and then to the City Council in late spring.
