Help Create a New Park!
The project has currently been designed to a 30% level through a robust community engagement process that incorporated ideas and needs of the local community.
Project ideas were gathered from local residents at community events held on the property, through specific outreach activities and through a series of five public meetings held at Sherwood Hall during 2018 and 2019. This input was incorporated into the design and refined after each meeting, with an opportunity for the public to review and comment after each revision to achieve the current design. We plan to hold more public meetings and seek input in late 2021 and early 2022. We are currently waiting on City approvals to proceed with the next phase of design work. A CEQA document has been released for public review here and the deadline for public comments is June 28, 2021. The project will go before the City Planning Commission on July 21, 2021 and the City Council in August 2021.
