Because Williams Canyon Road is a critical access point for emergency response teams, it has been designated as a priority in the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s (Cal Fire’s) Palo Corona Fuels Reduction Project.

In order for Cal Fire to complete this work, Mitteldorf Preserve will be closed from October 7th through mid December. Their hand crews will be reducing trees that may fall on the road as well as dead standing trees left from the Soberanes Fire.

This effort will be hugely beneficial to BSLT by making Mitteldorf Preserve safer for our future camp programs and all visitors to the property – and most importantly ensuring that emergency responders have clear access in an emergency!
