Gratitude first! + Upcoming Events

Gratitude for YOU!

At Big Sur Land Trust, we do our best to focus on gratitude. Gratitude for the land, for the resilience that nature shows us, and for YOU — our amazing supporters, volunteers, partners, and funders. As we continue to find our way through the challenges and joys of 2021, one thing that has constantly inspired us is your enthusiasm for the lands we all love. We’ve seen you as you hike or volunteer on the beautiful properties you are helping to conserve and care for or when you’ve joined us on Zoom for events. And on rare, wonderful occasions we’ve actually seen you in person! No matter how we have had the opportunity to interact with you, even if it’s through email or social media, we want you to know that you are the center of our mission. We cannot do this work without you and we are grateful for all you do.

With sincere thanks,

Big Sur Land Trust

Sunday, November 28
12:00PM – 2:00PM

Join Big Sur Land Trust’s Land Steward, Cate Stanley for a special “clean-up” day at Marks Ranch. Virtual Event: You Make It Possible

Thursday, December 2

With gratitude for all that your support has accomplished, we invite you to join our virtual celebration of how partnerships make Big Sur Land Trust’s work possible. Our President and CEO Jeannette Tuitele-Lewis, community partners, and staff will share inspirational stories of your support in action from this year, as well as what we’re looking forward to accomplishing in 2022. We’ll also provide a sneak peek into next year’s events and you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions.

Virtual Book Club: The Science of Hope

Wednesday, December 8
5:30pm – 6:30pm PST

Join Dr. Wiebke Finkler and Scott Davis to “get eye to eye with our world’s wildlife!” From polar bears to mountain gorillas, penguins to sea otters, certain animals capture our imagination. These animals are mascots for conservation campaigns, but why these creatures instead of other equally endangered animals? The answer lies in their cuteness or charisma! Illustrated with images by Scott Davis, one of the world’s leading wildlife photographers, The Science of Hopeinforms as it educates, describing the psychology and science behind our desire to connect with these animals.
