Ready? Set! Help us reach our goal! Now through April 25, run or hike your favorite local trails wherever you live or choose one of Big Sur Land Trust’s trails at Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur or Mitteldorf Preserve in Carmel Valley.

Seasoned trail runners can go the extra distance and sign up for a 9- or 21-mile Adventure Course that’s not usually open to the public.

Our first set of Race for Open Space stats are in! So far, we have over 350 runners and hikers signed up. As of noon, Friday, April 9, the top three participants for the week are:

  1. Mark Beering with 78.25 miles
  2. Joey Niolet with 40.83 miles
  3. Stefanie Dressel with 35.85 miles

Do you enjoy long, strenuous hikes and spending time in solitude outdoors? Then this Race for Open Space volunteer opportunity is for you!

Big Sur Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help monitor two special adventure trail courses in Carmel to support seasoned trail runners who are going the extra mile for Big Sur Land Trust. Volunteers will be partnered up, remaining socially distant for morning or afternoon shifts.
