Progress at Ensen Community Park in Salinas
Take a look at this exciting footage showing our progress on the first phase of construction at Ensen Community Park at Carr Lake in Salinas! Flying over from south to north with Sherwood Drive on the left, first you’ll see the start of a walking trail and then the future home of a new dog park. Then you can see curbs for the south parking lot and a rad skate spot beginning to take shape. Continuing on, you’ll see fencing being framed out for the basketball and multi-use sport court.
Located at the Land Trust’s 73-acre site at Carr Lake, this traditional park will include other amenities such as a children’s playground, a basketball court, barbecues, picnic area and more. Weather permitting, this phase of the park is estimated to open in Spring of 2025. As soon as the neighborhood park is complete, we’ll begin construction on the 67-acre wetlands restoration phase.
We’re so excited to share this progress and we want to express our continuing gratitude to the community members and leaders, along with the generous donors and funders who have supported this project since 2017!
