Thanks to our partners at Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District (MPRPD), California State Parks, Santa Lucia Preserveand Santa Lucia Conservancy, experienced trail runners can choose Adventure Courses through conserved lands that are not usually open to the public! Both the 9-mile and 21-mile options begin at Palo Corona Regional Park.
Volunteer with Big Sur Land Trust
April 17, 18 & 24
Do you enjoy long, strenuous hikes and spending time outdoors away from cell phone range? Then this Race for Open Space volunteer opportunity is for you!
Big Sur Land Trust is seeking volunteers to help monitor special, socially-distant trail running courses in Carmel. This is a rare chance to immerse yourself in conserved spaces that are usually closed to the public. Qualified volunteers need to be comfortable spending extended time in backcountry wilderness areas and are able to easily hike 4+ miles on hilly terrain if needed.
Thanks, Congressman Panetta!
A visit to Carr Lake
Thank you to Congressman Jimmy Panetta and his staff for visiting our Carr Lake project site with our conservation team members (Beth Febus, Jennifer Vasquez, and Rachel Saunders) and the Center for Community Advocacy.
We appreciate your interest in how we are working with the community to create a new park and open space in the heart of Salinas!
